Do you ever notice how many commercials are about food!!!

I'm sorry I have not written for awhile, but I figure talking about our nap times or about our trips to Superstore to buy more fruit for my new diet wasn't terribly interesting for you.

Well, tomorrow morning (Wednesday) Wes goes for another blood test at Boundary Trails to make sure his levels are OK. He will go again for a blood test next Wednesday and then will see the Dr. here in Winkler to begin his next five day round of chemo in February.

So far the only adverse effect has been extreme fatigue which has been getting more intense over the past couple of days.

As for myself, I am still on a strict diet. No meat, no dairy and no fat...boring!!! So, for the 5th day in a row I have been having stir fry for supper and sometimes I make it for dinner just to mix things up a bit. Today I was feeling a little crazy so I threw in some bean sprouts!

My mother-in-law gave me a variety of jams for my dry toast and it does make it much more tasty - thanks mom! Our doctor did say that I could try pasta, which I did, but that didn't sit real well for me. I have been a bit frustrated with how slow things have been going, but I keep reminding myself that the last attack I had was 14 years ago and that means I'm also 14 years older which means I heal that much slower. For those of you who have been asking, I'm not experiencing any more pain or spasms and that has been a huge relief. I still get pretty tired by the end of the day, yesterday we went to bed by 8:15p.m. and as long as the telemarketers don't call after eight we have a pretty peaceful night.

Our family doctor feels that since they did not find any gallstones they will not do surgery at this point which was a relief to me. After my last attack in 1994 I did see a specialist who did an ERCP and they found what they felt was a birth defect in my pancreas. At that time he said it was nothing to worry about, but that he felt that was the cause of my health problems at that time. This is why they want to do an MRCP now to see if there is any change in the pancreatic duct.

Anyway, onto cheerier thoughts...we have had a few friends who have been dropping by with food and Wes is enjoying it to the max and of course he loves to give me a play by play of how good everything tastes--and Mark is loving the leftovers the next day in his lunch kit. But, I'm not bitter!

"Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." John 6:27
