Fred is truckin' around....
Today we needed to go to Winnipeg to pick up some paperwork and since we were in HSC we really needed to see Fred Stoesz. So, off we went to the nurses station on the 6th floor and when we asked where Fred was there were about three nurses who began talking at once.
"Just keep following this hallway all the way around to about there" the one indicated with a wide sweep of her arm. "He's in room 665"
Another nurse chimed in talking overtop of the other one, "And if Fred's not in his room he's probably truckin' around here somewhere. He's always on the move somewhere"
Well, that sounded like a positive thing! Wes and I both chuckled as we walked down the hallway, nothing about what they had just said had surprised us. What can keep Fred down? I keep thinking that God is going to keep him on earth as long as possible because well, could you imagine him in Heaven, who could keep up with him?
Well, when we peeked around the curtain there he was lounging comfortably in his hospital bed waiting to be released. A big smile on his face he welcomed us into his room as though he was lounging in his living room at home.
With the signature Fred laugh he informed us that he was going home today. He was feeling good and as per usual was giving God all the glory.
When we left we had only one question..."How does he do that?" We were the ones who were there to see him and offer some encouragement and instead he poured the encouragement out on us!
"Brothers, if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak."Acts 13:15
