A Moment of Celebration!

December 2, 2008 - We went for our second last treatment at 1:00 this afternoon. Then we went upstairs for our final appointment with our doctor until the new year. Did you catch that? 2009!!!

The doctor said that tomorrow morning will be Wes' last dose of chemo for 5 weeks! Wes is on cloud nine - haha. He is so sick of those pills, but the time off will only be for 5 weeks, but we'll take it!!!

On January 3rd, 2009 Wes will have another MRI to see how the tumour is doing and then on January 9th we will see the doctor and the pharmacist to begin the next round of chemo which will last for approximately 1-2 years. The chemo dosage will be more intense than what he is on presently. The schedule will be as follows, chemo pills for 5 days and then off for 3 weeks. This schedule will continue throughout the two years. How this will affect him physically we don't know at this point. I guess only time will tell.

But, for now we celebrate this moment of reprieve.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
